 Optimum Ability Support Services is proud to serve the Lake Macquarie community. I am committed to not only providing ethical mental health support and improvements to your quality of life, but I have specialised interest in assisting individuals and families of those on the autistic spectrum who are struggling to cope.

About Me

  •  I am a Registered Nurse of over ten years with a Masters Degree in Mental Health Nursing.

  • I am also an experienced General RN so I understand contributing physical health issues many others cannot.

  • I have worked within the Public, Private and Government Health Sectors. I understand the challenges people face in trying to get results.

  • My goal is to learn about each person, with the aim of tailoring services to the individual for optimum benefit.

  • I have lived experience and continuing post graduate education in the treatment and support of individuals on the autism spectrum

 

Providing Mental Health Services to NDIS Participants and the General Public

  • Autism Spectrum Support for participants and their families based on sound, evidence based theories.

  • Targeted mental health services and support for both NDIS participants  or privately funded clients on issues including:

  • Symptoms of mood and anxiety disorders

  • Difficulties with emotional regulation and processing

  • Attempting to improve distress tolerance

  • Improving your understanding of medication management

  •  

    Liaising with medical specialists, allied health and government agencies.

  • Increasing your satisfaction with daily functioning

  • Inclusion of families and carers in decision making to address overall stress

  • Seeking greater satisfaction in co-ordination and integration of your multi-disciplinary care

  • I offer a practical, person centred, recovery-based approach using principles drawn from CBT, DBT, ACT, Narrative Therapy, and IPT.

  • I also work in general nursing, with regular experience of medical assessment. I have seen the impact physical challenges and illness can have on emotional well being.

  •  PRACTICE IS CONDUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CODES OF CONDUCT AND STANDARDS OF PRACTICE AS DETERMINED BY :

  • THE NURSES AND MIDWIVES BOARD OF AUSTRALIA (NMBA)

  • THE AUSTRALIAN COLLEGE OF MENTAL HEALTH NURSES (ACMHN)

  • NDIS CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Completely independent. Your goals are my focus.
